Mysterious disappearance: WA Police search for woman missing on dog walk

Emergency services are searching for a woman who went missing while walking her dogs with her husband near Nannup on Sunday morning.

Heather Rae Ellis, 68, had been driving with her husband Maurice, 80, along Milyeannup Coast Road at around 11.30am when the pair stopped for a rest.

WA Police spokeswoman Susan Usher said the couple parked their Nissan X-Trail near Scott River and let their three golden retrievers out of the vehicle.

“Heather decided to take her dogs for a walk in the forest area whilst Maurice remained at the site taking pictures,” she said.

“However, Heather failed to return with her dogs and has not been seen since.”

State Emergency Services, local rangers and police joined the hunt for Miss Ellis, and have set up a Command Centre at Milyeannup Coast Road and Fouracres Road in Scott River.

She is described as light-skinned, 170cm tall with a medium build and white hair.

Police have asked anyone who may have seen Mrs Ellis or has any information relating to her disappearance to contact WA Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
